About FabricNano

FabricNano (fabricnano.com) is a seed-stage startup. We use DNA nanotechnology to revolutionise the synthesis of biomolecules - bioplastics, biofuels, fragrances, flavours, medicines, and more. We use DNA origami to generate multi-enzyme cascades with increased yield, higher purity, lower synthesis costs, and drastically lower environmental impact. You would join a passionate team of 8 at an exciting early stage to help build our culture and tech.

Role

You will join the CTO in developing the theoretical approach and coding infrastructure used to accelerate the development of our technology. In particular, you should expect to work on projects involving theoretical and computational biochemistry/biophysics, identifying the best scientific approaches, writing the relevant code infrastructure, and ultimately performing the analysis. Your scientific acumen and know-how will be crucial in interpreting the results of our experiments and derive generalisable design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the majority of the theoretical and computational parts of the technology.
  • Play a crucial role in understanding the performance of our DNA-enzyme conjugate structures and optimise them.
  • Produce intellectual property, and author patents and papers depending on the company‚Äôs needs.
  • Collaborate with biophysicists, chemists, enzymologists and computational scientists in our team and partner organisations.
  • Develop and maintain internal scientific software.
  • Contribute to a passionate, creative and open-minded work environment.
  • Develop a revolutionary biotechnology.

Requirements

    Essential:

  • Extensive hands-on experience performing research in molecular simulation and/or theory, acquired in a PhD, post-doc, or demonstrated at an equivalent level.
  • Can program in a relevant language.
  • Flexible and focused team player.
  • Desirable:

  • Has experience in molecular simulations of DNA and/or RNA, preferably in OxDNA.
  • Has experience in developing Monte Carlo algorithms and code.
  • Can code in Python and/or C++, ideally with CUDA.
  • Has experience in DNA nanotechnology.
